Having represented District 89 for nearly a decade, Kenny Bingham has emerged as one of the rising stars of the S.C. Republican Party thanks to his tireless work ethic, leadership skills and commitment to fiscal and social conservative values.BinghamCommittee

A member of the powerful House Ways & Means committee – which is responsible for drafting the state spending plan – Kenny has been a consistent voice for tax relief and responsible spending since earning this coveted position after four years on the House Labor, Commerce & Industry Committee.

For his commitment to lower taxes and less spending, Kenny has been honored by Gov. Mark Sanford as a “Taxpayer Hero” (2004) and by the S.C. Association of Taxpayers as a “Friend of the Taxpayer” (2005). He has also consistently earned high marks from pro-business groups, and in July 2003 was named “National Legislator of the Year” by the National Republican Legislators Association.    

Personal

A successful businessman, Kenny is a licensed professional engineer and co-owner of American Engineering Consultants, Inc., which is based in his hometown of Cayce, S.C. A lifelong BinghamFamilyresident of Lexington County, Kenny is a graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School and the University of South Carolina.

Prior to being elected to the House of Representatives in 2000, Kenny served as a member of the City of Cayce Planning Commission for two years. He also served for four years on the Lexington School District Two Board of Trustees, including two years as Chairman.

Kenny and his wife, Jennie Lynn, are the parents of twin teenage daughters, Kayla McKenzie and Kellie Nicole.
